Dr. Jennifer Gorski is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental, social, and learning differences. Dr. Gorski excels in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with complex clinical presentations. In addition to her breadth of experience in clinical child and adolescent psychology, Dr. Gorski has specialized expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and in other conditions which influence social functioning, such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, and depression.
Dr. Gorski’s services include developmental, psychological, and psychoeducational evaluations; independent evaluations and consultations for schools; and treatment. Dr. Gorski takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach in her work with individuals, families, and schools. She has a passion for helping individuals learn more about their unique strengths and needs, with the overarching goal of driving positive educational and treatment outcomes. Dr. Gorski’s well-rounded background in evidence-based treatment approaches and school consultation is unique among evaluators, helping to build a bridge between the evaluation process and the implementation of practical educational and treatment recommendations.
In addition to her work with children, Dr. Gorski also has an extensive background working with adolescents and young adults who have ASD or related conditions. Dr. Gorski’s life-span perspective, including her knowledge of developmental changes in clinical presentation and co-occurring needs, is a strong asset that informs her practice with individuals of all ages.
Dr. Gorski enjoys providing training and consultation to clinicians and to school professionals. She is a certified trainer in the Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), and she frequently conducts trainings on these instruments and other ASD-related topics.
Prior to focusing on her independent practice, Dr. Gorski was the director of the Autism Clinic at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) for over a decade. In this role, Dr. Gorski provided clinical direction for the UIC site of The Autism Program (TAP) of Illinois, and contributed to statewide collaboration and planning to support children with ASD. Dr. Gorski was also involved in several research studies focused on autism, including Dr. Edwin H. Cook’s Autism Center of Excellence (ACE), which focused on translational genetics research. While at UIC, Dr. Gorski was an active and respected educator for numerous clinical and professional training programs, and served as the clinical psychology discipline coordinator for the federally funded Illinois Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program.
